A new day

Well its a little bitter sweet while I'm writing this blog. On jan. 9th around 7:30 pm my Tank got hit by a can and he is gone. So after some hard days and nights we decided it might be easier if we got another dog so we called our breeder and she wouldn't have one until around june and we decided that we were not ready for another lab. My second pick for a dog would be a Brittany the smallest of the pointing breed and becoming the number one pick according to GunDog mag.It has always been a dream of mine to own a Brittany in my mind it is the quintessential bird dog for grouse and woodcock. So after a little research on breeders we found a litter and made the contacts and then on a Friday evening we drove to Warren ohio and picked up our Big Hoss a 5 lbs bundle of American Brittany so be looking for more post on our training and hunting in the days ahead thanks.

day 2 of ohios upland season 2012

we got out at leagal shooting time 7:57 according to the sunrise and sunset chart in my regulation book we jumped 6 birds total and shot at three so yes you do the math I missed 1 but everyone has their day jack.We did manage a bonus rabbit its the first one I have shot in years. On our last bird it jumped and I shot it went down and I'm waiting but the dog isn't coming back so I walk over and he is looking for it he was trying to cross a dirt road but I wouldnt let him so finally after not being able to locate it I let him cross he made a bee-line down an bank and out into the field and here he came with my bird now that is conservation at its best no wasted game
so it was another great day just me and tank>
